Agriculture is one of the vital sectors of Iraq. It is the second sector in Iraq with regard to the employment rates. In order to develop and improve the agriculture and breeding sector in the country, investments and many other activities have been proceeded. Despite of these endeavors and prosperity of the country's natural resources; there has not been a vital improvement regarding the production.
Agricultural products have large share in Iraq's import. Currently, Iraq imports 65% of its agricultural products. Besides; the demand for the processed and high-nutrition foods is presumed to increase in parallel to the improvement in living standards. Agriculture and irrigation machines effluent water treatment, recycling and waste treatment technologies are represented as significant requirements of the country.
